Hello everyone!
It's that time again when we are looking for volunteers! This year your Houston Rose Society has been selected to host the South Central District Rose Convention, Oct. 23, 24, 25, 2009. Exhibitors from across the district, and out of state, will be coming to Houston to share their love of roses.
The convention is being held at the Hilton Hotel Hobby Airport, near Hwy 45 South.
Friday evening, October 23, we need help with registration, setting up and staffing the hospitality room, and setting up the show- filling vases, displaying tables and getting trophy table setup. Duties begin at 4:00pm - 9:30pm but, as always, whenever you are available will be appreciated!
Saturday, October 24, is a full day with volunteers needed bright and early 7AM to help with classification and placement of the roses in the show, to help break down the prep room as soon as judging begins, clerking with the judges, pulling tags during the show, working with (guarding!) the trophy table. During the day we'll need help with information table and presentation assistance. After the banquet, we will need to break down the show, empty vases, pack up trophy table, etc...breakdown goes much faster than set-up especially with lots of help!
Sunday morning, October 25, we have the garden tours, and we need tour hosts at each garden (3 gardens) 7:30am - 1:00pm to help with ticket taking, monitoring the breakfast supplies and general host duties.
